Oh what the future might hold....

If what my children are doing now is a prediction of what they are to become it will be interesting! Brigitte within the last month of so has started to line things up. She gets very upset when you move things out of place. I can't organize my pantry because she is always lining the cans up on the floor. Even in our shower she loves to put on the bottles on the ground and line them up. Here are some pictures from her room.
I am really surprised the middle one is up a little! Usually they have to be perfect and all the letters have to be facing the same way.

You will usually never go in her room where her barbies are not on the window sill. The only time they are not is when we have cleaned her room and usually it doesn't take long before they are back up there.

I even asked the doctor if this was normal behavior (new mom here!) She was a little concerned but not too worried. I think she just might be a neat freak and have a little OCD. She does love helping me clean as you have seen in earlier post. I think it is just her personality.

It was pretty funny because the nurse gave her 6 little Disney stickers and what is the first thing she does when we get in the car... she puts them all in a row on her leg! Love this girl!

Now Violet here may be a future piano player. You can't hardly tell in the picture but her hands are up in the air as if she was playing the piano. Her little fingers would even wiggle a little. What was funny was that you would push her hands down and she would put them right back up. Apparently she is working on a master piece in her dreams and wasn't done yet!

Happy Birthday Brigitte!

Yesterday was Brigitte's 2nd birthday! Crazy to believe my little stinker is 2 but she is. Gabriel had to leave on another business trip so he didn't get to spend the day with her. He was supposed to leave Monday night but lovely Delta changed his flight from 6 pm to 12:30pm. Our plan was to have lunch together. So he felt really bad. He got up at 5 to bake her a cookie and work her up at 7:15 to sing her happy birthday.
As you can see she wasn't thrilled about it but she loved having a cookie for breakfast!

So since daddy was going to be gone for the week we packed up and went to grandma's house! She threw Brigitte a party! She was thrilled!!!
Brigitte was more intrested in her ballon and singing birthday card than her cake!

Playing in her kitchen with her new monkey and sweater.

My best friend since elementary school Sarah and her daughter Haley got to come celebrate with us. It took about 2 seconds for them to become friends.

They really loved to comb everyones hair.

State Fair 2012

This weekend we took a trip down the road to the fair. Brigitte was so excited which she was interesting because I don't know where she thought we were going to but I guess she knew it was going to be fun.
All ready to go...She kept saying "Let's go, Let's go!"
Of all things to go see at the fair she wanted to see fish! This little girl loves fish.
This is how Violet's rolls at the fair. It was so bright and we couldn't find a bench in the shade.
COWS!!!! She just couldn't believe she could get this close to cows. Here she wanted to feed this cow and this cow wanted nothing to do with her!!!

Daddy showed her how a calf will suck your fingers! They were very hungry!

This cow was very friendly!
Goooats as she would say. She wanted to touch them so bad but she kept running to the gates too fast they wouldn't let her.
We didn't think she would ride any rides but she saw the horses and ran! She was going to ride them by herself. She did not want to get off though. I had to peel her little arms off the pole and she came out kicking and screaming! A great way to end our day at the fair.

Violet's Blessing

Violet was blessed at church over Labor Day weekend. My father in law, brother in law, sister in law, and my newest not so little nephew got to come too! It was a fast trip with a crowded house but it makes me want to live closer to them so bad! We enjoyed having everyone.
Our little Violet just woke and didn't know what was going on or why!

Not the best family picture but we tried.

Sullins family photo....Brigitte did not want to take pictures she wanted to go to nursery. She thought she wasn't going to get to go!

Dauphin family photo....Brigitte had it she was going to nursery!

Proud grandpa! These kids are only 5 1/2 months apart! My Violet is a tiny little girl and Sebastian is one big boy!

Violet and Aunty Sarah

Mommy In Training

Brigitte has always done everything that I do but she is really picking up on her "mommy" skills. She brings Violet things when she is crying all the time. She hasn't figured out that throwing them on her doesn't really help usually just makes things worse but it is cute to watch her.
Mommy was cleaning her room and Brigitte thought Violet might like to read a story. However she didn't like Brigitte pushing the book on her!
Violet can't keep a binky in her mouth so often I am walking around carrying Violet and holding the binky in her mouth.
Brigitte also thought Viley might sleep better if she had her night light and music. She even turned it to her own favorite song before throwing it on Violet!

Videos of Brigitte

Here are the  latest videos of Brigitte. Brigitte is very video shy now. She somehow knows when I am  taking a video or picture. She loves pictures but does not want me to film her apparently.

Uncle Travis loves this video of Beyonce and so does Brigitte. She will either sit and watch it or try and copy Beyonce's moves which is what I am tying to get her to do in this video.

I finally got sneaky enough and caught her dancing without her knowing I was recording. Check out these skills.

Miss Independent wanted to play outside but didn't want mommy out there with her. She loves playing out there but when she is by herself she won't get off the porch which is why I let her do it!

Introducing Violet Belle Dauphin

Well after what seemed like FOREVER....Violet decided to officially join our family. She was born July 27th (aw almost a month old! Where does time go???) 6 pounds 11 ounces and 20 inches long.

I was certain that she was going to come early like her sister did at least 9 days. Nope just 4 days early. So I was very anxious. We didn't have a name picked out yet and I was determined that was why she wasn't coming. She wanted the perfect name and she didn't want us to decide it in the hospital.

Well Thursday morning I woke up Gabriel at 4am to take me to the hospital and we discussed names on the way in between contractions. We weren't discussing new names we were just trying to agree on one name. We had to down to about 10 different names that we couldn't agree on. Funny thing is... Violet was the first name we both liked when we found out we were having another girl. But Brigitte has that Leapfrog dog named Violet and we kind of thought it would be weird and confusing for Brigitte. Well Brigitte has it all figured out. Her dog is still Violet and her sister in Viley or baby. We did decide on Violet before she was born and Belle was decided about 4 hours after she was born.

When we got to the hospital I wasn't in what they call active labor. They made to wait about an hour to see if I dilated more within the hour other wise I would have to go back home. Well luckily I did change and got to stay. They did have to give me a little pitocin to speed things up and thank goodness it did. My epidural however didn't work as great as the first time. My epidural was only blocking my right side and I could still feel some contractions on my left however when it came to pushing I couldn't feel any pain so it all worked out in the end. The pitocin worked a little faster than they have thought it would. Basically they started it when I was dilated to a 6 and my nurse was supposed to call my doctor when I was about 8-9. Well we started at 6am and I wasn't changing very fast. So my nurse wasn't to worried. Well then my contractions really started hurting and I was wanting them to come try and fix it. My nurse (who was the same sweet nurse that delivered Brigitte and I used to work with her husband) said well he should be on his way but let me check you. Well she went to check me and said "Opps I can see her head!" Which explained why my contractions hurt so bad. Doctor came in and the first thing he said was "why isn't she pushing!?" Well my nurse doesn't like to have her patients push until she knows the doctor is at least in the building because she usually ends up delivering the baby! What a different this time though. With Brigitte I pushed for about an hour which isn't bad but really wears you out. Violet I don't even think I pushed 10 minutes. It was great!

She came out and I was worried at first because I thought she wasn't crying. I was wrong she was but it was just so quiet! It was more like a whimper. She has 2 ear skin tags which she will get removed when she is about a year old but the interesting thing about them are I had them in the exact same spot when I was born! But she is perfect little girl!

Brigitte didn't know what to think of her at first. She came in and daddy was holding her and she just kind of glared at him and wondered why he was hold that strange thing! Well then she realized it was a baby and got a little excited. She didn't like when I held Violet though because there wasn't enough room for her to get on the bed with mommy! She is now well adjusted to being a big sister and loves to take care of "her baby."

Our Little Helper

So this happened last weekend about 11 o'clock at night..... Scared me half to death. This would be Gabriel's "temporary" shelf in the garage. Temporary meaning it has been up since January. Well it finally gave it and put some nice pretty dents in my car.
We bought a "real" shelf last night and Brigitte thought she needed to help daddy since she knows all her tools now. I love that fact that she knows her tools before colors or numbers!

How do you like this outfit? I still can't figure out why she likes this hat so much. She gets mad if I put it in my closet now. It now belongs in her toy box she thinks.
Trying to hide the hammer from daddy.
Throwing a fit because we took the hammer away.

Fun with Uncle Travis

Uncle Travis has been living with us for the past 2 months and Brigitte loves to play with him. We have a air mattress in our living room because I can't seem to sit comfortably on the couch while watching movies with this big belly of mine! So it just sits in our living room against the wall for now.

Brigitte realized that it was a tunnel if you ran under it but was afraid to do it herself. So Uncle Travis came home from work and taught her that it wasn't that scary to run under it!

Things That Make A Mom Crazy

So I have bought a new changing table for the new baby and have been keeping the diapers and wipes on that. We didn't have a changing table for Brigitte because it wouldn't fit in her room plus there was a bed in there that we used instead. Well I just unloaded a new box of 200 diapers and neatly placed them on the changing table shelf.I had also just purchased a new wipe box!

Well Brigitte had been VERY quite so I decided to check on her. The first thing I see when I walk in is her trying to stuff all the wipes back into the wipe box. She loves to open and close the wipe box and then will take out the wipes, crumpled them into a ball, and either pretend to blow her nose or start cleaning with them. She is my little clean freak if you didn't already know! Well she knows that she is not supposed to do this so she heard me coming and tried putting them back into the box hoping I wouldn't noticed!

Well the thing I didn't notice was this.....

She had taken all her dirty clothes out of her basket and decided that her diapers needed to go in it! This picture is actually a couple days latter and it was even higher. How I missed this I don't know. I didn't notice it until we came back from dinner and I reached down and there was no diapers! My little stinker!

Belly Picture

Tomorrow I will be 36 weeks! Holy cow! This means that she can come any time now and she would most likely be fully developed and not premature! However I do not want her to come on the fourth because that is our 5th year wedding anniversary (WOW!!!) and she can't come the 14th-18th because Gabriel will be in San Antonio on a business trip! So hopefully everything will work out perfect just like Brigitte. Of course we still haven't come up with a name yet either... so much to do before she arrives!

Daddy's Weekend

This weekend was a nice 3 day weekend. I have enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I figured Gabriel would work outside all weekend and I would have Brigitte inside just like any other day. The wind has been crazy all weekend! It really is annoying. Brigitte wants to go outside but then gets out and feels the wind and goes running back into the garage. All this week we couldn't go outside because the wind was blowing so hard. She was getting knocked down. The sand coming at you at at least 30mph has a little sting to it too! However, on Monday the wind did die down and Brigitte went to Lowes with daddy and played in her pool while daddy worked so I kind of got a break! I was able to clean and relax. I would just have to go out and give them drinks and refill the pool.

These pictures are actually from after Brigitte's nap. She spent ALL morning outside playing in her pool too. She did finally get out around 11 and wanted daddy to hold her. So the sun and heat wore her out I think. She came inside and I gave her a bath (which my sink is now full of sand!) She was tired but not ready for a nap, so we put on her favorite Kidsongs video and ate a snack. After her show was over she told me binky which meant she was ready for a nap! She took a very short 1 1/2 hour nap. The first thing she did when I went to get her was say "daddy" and ran to her window to see if he was still outside. So she saw he was outside and ran and got her shoes. Well she was not dressed to go outside so I had to find her another junky swim suite (the sand ruins her nice ones) and off to the door she went. She wouldn't even stop for a drink. So I still made her take one out there but she didn't start drinking until she was outside and sure that she was staying outside!

This girl is going to be one wore out girl tonight. She hasn't ate any lunch only the pretzels she ate before her nap and lots of water. At least she got a semi good breakfast!

So my summer future has been told for me. I can see my fat pregnant self sitting outside or at our city splash park most of the summer. Hopefully it won't be too hot and she will let me sit in her pool with her!

Brigitte wasn't much help because she was more interested in playing with the water than helping daddy but at least she was having fun.
Trying to shield her face from the sand! Poor girl!
Finally listening to daddy and washing Grace!
Taking a break. This is very unusual because she is normal standing right in front of the TV dancng so I knew she was tired!
Her "beach front" pool.
Finally starting to drink something!
For whatever reason all she wants to do is put as much sand as she can in her pool. I think maybe it is because she likes to play in wet sand not dry sand but who knows! This is why I have to refill the pool. After awhile she wants "clean" water.
Daddy hard at work! He is working on puttng some stairs down our hill.
