Violet's Birthday

So for Violet's birthday we didn't do anything too big but we did go to the Salina zoo! She loved it. She did get a little fussy when she couldn't see because she kept falling back in her stroller. She loved the monkeys and any of the cats that moved. However we were there when the Lions did their roar thing and she cried like crazy!

Violet was a huge fan of her cake just for the Fruit Loops. It  did take a little bit for her to understand what was going on. We went to sing to her with her cake in front of her but she couldn't reach it and she started screaming. So needless to say she didn't pay any attention to us while we sang and she had her cake.
First taste
 Still picking
Finally tasted the frosting and got excited!
This is how it ended. She had fun!

This was also the first night that Brigitte got really jealous of Violet. Not only was Violet getting all the attention but she also had her own cake and Brigitte only had one cupcake which to a 2 year old is apparently devastating!

Violet is ONE!

I can't believe Violet is one! She is our tiny munchkin who doesn't really care to eat but is a happy baby. She had her doctor very worried (she is straight out of medical school and a little over bearing). We have had all kinds of test and guess what the conclusion was....we just make small babies! I could have told you that. However she is a lot smaller than she should be so we are supplementing with Pedisure and hopefully she will get some meat on her bones.

I was given the idea from a friend that you should take a picture of your child with a toy. That way as they grow you can see how big they are getting. So with the "new thing" to take monthly photo's of infants I decided to be a little different.

So here is my growing girl...

Just some of our mornings....

One cannot predict what will come of our mornings but here is just some things that happen...

It is now recommended that cribs do not use bumpers to prevent SIDS. On this day Violet got a little stuck. Guess that is one drawback from not having them.
Brigitte is only allowed to have a binky when she is sleeping. I was starting to get worried that she had wandered outside (since she can open the door now!) because she will usually answer "I'm here momma" when I call for her. Well she wasn't ready to give up the binky that she found under her sister's crib. She was trying to hide as long as possible.

The imagination of a 2 year old! I love it!!! I couldn't figure out what she was doing. I thought she was cold and couldn't find a blanket.  However when I asked what she was doing she replied "I am a turtle silly momma" as I should have already know that! :D
