Christmas

So our Christmas this year was a little different. Travis couldn't get to Kansas before Christmas and actually ended up flying in on Christmas day. So we had Christmas evening instead of morning. The girls aren't old enough to know better so it was pretty easy until they got home from the airport and Brigitte saw all the presents. She didn't want to eat first she just wanted her presents...

Of course we started off with reading from the Bible the Christmas story and used the play Nativity to keep Brigitte interested.

So on the manger where the angel sits you push it down and it plays Away in a Manger. Well that is Violet's favorite thing to do so she wasn't interested until the angel came out! This is also when Brigitte learned that the angel's name is the same as daddy's. Now when she plays with it she calls the angel "Angel Gabriel Dauphin" not really sure why she stuck in Dauphin but she does!
Presents
Violet didn't care about opening any presents. All she wanted to do was "take pictures."
Violet getting mad for taking the camera away....and Travis opening his awesome bag I made him!

Violet opening her tickle me Minnie Mouse

Violet was really enjoying all her presents. She has 4 favorite things, Minnie Mouse, Thomas the Train, babies, and buttons. She got all of that. This is the car that GG got her and it has all kids of buttons on it that play music and she is trying to open the Thomas that Uncle Travis got her. The car is the ONLY toy she doesn't like Brigitte to play with! She is very possessive of it. All of her other presents she shares with her sister. She also got a baby that she loves to give her a bottle but I guess we didn't get a picture of that.

Brigitte was just the opposite of her sister. All she wanted to do was open the gifts and didn't care what was inside...
Her two favorite were her princess castle and piano.
She did get pretty excited when she saw her piano though.
I finally have a sewing machine that does more than stich a straight line! I don't even know where to start! It has 70 different stiches and can actually sew on a button!

Fun Play Time

The girls are obsessed with playing in our bedroom curtains. Not really sure why. They are always sitting on the window sill looking out the window. It is the window we use to watch the deer and make sure the garbage truck doesn't come inside our house (Brigitte's worst fear!) Violet is copying everything her sister does and this day she just thought Brigitte was so funny!

So I was busy cleaning like always and I thought the girls were quietly watching a movie. Then I noticed that it was really quite and Violet was gone. She wouldn't answer me and I was looking for her everywhere! Finally found her in her sister's closet. And I know why she wasn't answering me...

Violet loves crayons and especially markers because they have lids that she can pull off and loose to drive her mother crazy! She also apparently thinks they taste wonderful! Today her tasting made for a perfect mustache!

Christmas Dresses

So I have finally learned that when they look cute before church you must take the picture before we step outside....

They are just too dang cute! Yes I am that horrible mother that dresses her kids the same but only when I find clothes on sale! I do not go out of my way by any means! Brigitte is growing like a weed so this is probably the last outfit that they will make in the same sizes as you can see her dress is a little short. I bought it last year expecting her to be in 3T over Christmas because she is 3 after all...

Pre Christmas Fun

So here is some of the pre-Christmas fun we had. As always our ward has a Christmas party and unfortunately I was in charge of because Christmas was Primary's responsibility...Blah However everything actually went really smoothly. Of course Santa came. Sadly I didn't get a picture of Violet because she wanted nothing to do with him. Brigitte really didn't either but heard there was candy and kind of talked to him.

Brigitte goes to a preschool class once a week. For whatever reason she calls it her birthday school. She loves it. On the last day before break Santa came. This time she was really scared of him but I wanted a good picture dang it and basically threw her on his lap. He talked to her for awhile. I think she really thought he knew her because she was started to tell him her life story.
Here is her cute little class. They are all 3-4 year olds. And yep only one boy!

With both Santa's she told him she wanted a "real pet, a bunny, a red one" just like that! Not sure where she came up with it. Christmas morning she said "oh but I didn't get my bunny!" I felt really bad and then said "but I love all my presents!"
I am kind of hoping she doesn't really get into Santa because right now I think she is just confused by him. I think she is confused because we don't really push Santa and don't really talk about him. She does know that Christmas is about Jesus' Birthday and we have to sing him happy birthday! She still keeps asking how old he is too! We just tell her eternal or really old. She isn't too happy with either of those answers!
